"Honor your father and mother..." project complete as far as I'm going to take it.

I am blessed with so many wonderful photos I've taken, sometimes its hard to pick just one for this project. Generally I don't expect to produce this many variations, but this was fun, and gave me the opportunity to try out a new piece of software- image analyzer.

These word pictures have broad applicability- they could be used in birthday cards for a mother or grand mother, or a mother's day card.

Generally I expect I'll do a couple of versions... at least one landscape and one portrait, so they can be adapted easily to bulletins, tent cards, care cards, etc.

Why I left space in the tulip pictures, and why I'm doing this in the first place

The reason I posted these uncropped images is to provide an easy opportunity for others to personalize / customize these images. That is also why I post them in highest quality resolution, suitable for printing up to full page size, rather than reduced for web.

So on the right side of such images could be church or organization contact info, or a special thought (say, a personalized mother's day card)... what ever.

Tent cards with an image, a verse, and contact information are especially useful for anyone involved with ministry to the least of the world who are the greatest in God's esteem.

Framed well matted images with a favorite verse or thought can also be very meaningful to people in times of need.

God has blessed me with a good eye for photography and a superabundance of training and experience in ministering to the suffering & needy... by these images I hope to provide others resources they can use for free and customize instead of spending money on them as I once did.

Its especially meaningful for me to be doing this since due to extreme life circumstances, this project is essentially the only opportunity to minister to the beloved of Christ, the outcast, sick and suffering.

The tulips are in my mother's garden- I thought the mother/daughter flower was IDEAL for this!

I have other versions I hope to do as health and life give me time and opportunity. When they are ALL done I will post them here.

Romans 8 - The Spirit's wordless prayer - A series...

Every rule has an exception... this Word Picture breaks several rules I'd set down when I started this project. I had no intention of ever using a picture of a living being, not even one which suggested a particular person (real or mythical.)

However, I'm an ardent practitioner of "art for art's sake." I don't tell my art what to be, it tells me.

That happened here.

Additionally, this picture suggested many interesting variants, each of which emphasized a different aspect either of the photo of me or the text.

The photo was taken by my wife when the medicines weren't doing anything to assuage my pain.

Psalm 13 - Balloon Flower | God's steadfast love in face of adversity

A dear friend suggested / challenged / dared me to do this, probably because he thought it would speak to/for me.

I have my reasons for having chosen this image, but I tend to like to keep those close to the chest. I've no interest in telling anyone else how they should think or feel in response to a photo, a scripture text, or a life crisis.

In this case, I started with the public domain ASV and updated it, consulting the usual sources (especially Luther and my wife.)

Isa 43 and Burning Bush

I did this as a special project at the request of one relative for another.

That relative wished the NIV version be used, but the licensing procedures of the ESV are more compatible with this project.

The image is one of scores I shot of this lovely shrub last fall.

Its featured in my "fire spirit / burning bush" videos.
